Mentimeter Rebrand
Mentimeter offers digital tools that bring interactivity to presentations and quizzes across education, corporate environments, and events. As part of their rebrand, I was commissioned to develop a series of illustrations and animations. Alongside the bold graphical aesthetic, the art directors Mikael Lundin and Peter Viksten wanted a playful and handcrafted counterpart. To maintain a minimal and flexible design, all illustrations were created using a single color and brushstroke.

Spot Illustrations
Each spot illustration represents a specific word or idea. The Horse in half is connected to ‘error’ and the character stepping through the portals is connected to ‘questioning’. For this project I was given this huge list of words: creating, celebration, complexity, participation etc. and I had pretty much free range to come up with ideas that represents these words in a clear and playful way. Many of these were made with storytelling and motion in mind. So with a straight forward word like ‘writing’ I thought about how it would also be fun in motion. This then turned into this small character energetically jumping from one letter to another.

Icons
The icons had the same treatment as the spot illustrations. Keeping it playful, but also mature enough. In a way these were extra challenging since you have such a limited space to draw in. Designing simple icons and animating them is extremely fun. An icon like ‘import’, has been done a hundred times before and trying to find a little spin on it can be very rewarding once it is fully animated.
